Personal comment:

I have been teaching traditional Japanese gojuryu karate to children and adults since 1981. I keep abreast of current research in sport science, and seek safe ways to apply that knowledge to the tradition of karate training. I believe that karate must be taught with both a recognition of its cultural heritage, and an understanding of its implications for ethical behaviour, not just as a sport or a form of fighting.
