Join IKGA Canada
Thank you for your interest in membership in IKGA Canada. IKGA Canada is a
traditional karate organization, with the object of teaching and preserving the
“intangible cultural treasure” of Yamaguchi gojuryu karatedo. Acquiring this
special set of skills and attitudes means that the membership approval process
is long. The rewards are great in compensation.
The process for joining IKGA Canada begins with an initial contact directly
with either IKGA Canada Headquarters, or with a local
member club.
Pledge Period: (up to 6 months)

Confirmation of pledge, memo of agreement/understanding

Visit by an IKGA approved representative to the pledge club to view their
program

Visit by pledge instructor(s) to an IKGA club

Membership process and expectations clearly outlined
Associate Member: (up to 2 years)

Select a sponsor from the Instruction Committee

Follow IKGA Canada bylaws
-
Register the associate club and all members with IKGA Canada Headquarters

Begin to introduce IKGA curriculum as set up by the Technical Committee and the
sponsor

Agree to have representatives at Annual Camp or other IKGA camp

Arrange annual visit by member(s) of the Technical Committee

The associate club can gain full membership by black belts grading for an IKGA
dan rank

Full membership is granted by the Board based on the recommendation of the
Technical Committee
Full Member:

Instructor(s) become members of the Instruction Committee

Club receives Japanese dojo certificate

Continue working with sponsor

Continue to have regular visit by member(s) of the Technical Committee
